Sickness Remake
Hello everyone! So, I don't usually post on Sunday's or Monday's, but yesterday I was thinking about my stories that I wrote for Koopa Week last year, mostly the one for Roy Day. Well, I decided to rewrite the story! Let's hope it's a little better than the last version!
Disclaimer: I only own my FCs!
One day in the Koopa Kingdom, Roy was doing his usual weightlifting in his room. He was so glad that his family didn't have to attack any kingdoms today or battle the Mario Bros. Especially the Mario Bros. Roy sighed as he sat his dumbbells on the floor. He left his room and made his way to the bathroom. After turning on the water and making sure it was warm enough, Roy took a shower. As he whistled, Roy began to get lost in his thoughts.
"Man, I still can't believe those dumb plumbers beat us! Ugh, we gotta beat them next time."
After he was finished and got dressed, Roy left the bathroom and walked through the castle. He made his way to another hall when he heard voices coming from another room.
"I guess everyone's in the game room." Roy muttered.
He walked closer and opened the blue door. Roy saw his siblings, niece, cousins, and Ludwig's and Iggy's girlfriends Jasmine and Tiana in the game room hanging out.
"There you are, Roy!" Sandra, Roy's older cousin, said and smiled at him as he entered the room. "I guess you were working out again?"
Roy scoffed. "Of course, Sandy!" He looked around at everyone and noticed that a few girls were missing. "Hey. Where's Kacey, Stacey, and Yasmine?"
Lemmy replied, "Yasmine and Stacey are visiting Diamond City."
"Ok then. What about Kacey?" Roy asked.
"Oh, you didn't hear? She has a cold." Jasmine replied.
Roy stared at his friend. "She does?"
Jasmine responded, "Yeah. I guess being in the Frosty Kingdom last week made her sick. It was pretty cold there."
"But isn't it supposed to be cold?" Talisa, his youngest cousin, asked. "There's ice and snow all over that kingdom!"
Ludwig chuckled. "Yes, but it must've been the coldest it's ever been."
Roy turned around and walked back to the door.
"Where are you going, Roy?" Iggy asked as he tried to stop his daughter Tammy from grabbing his glasses.
Roy turned to his younger brother and said, "I'm heading out. I'll be back later."
After that, Roy left the game room.
"Are you sure you're gonna be alright by yourself?" Luigi asked.
Kacey coughed and replied, "Yeah. You guys go on to the Beanbean Kingdom. I'll be fine."
"I can always stay here with you if you want." Kayden, Kacey's older brother, suggested.
Kacey shook her head and smiled softly. "Kayden, I'll be ok. You guys go on ahead. Prince Peasley is waiting for you all."
"Well alright. We'll be back later." Mario said.
Kacey waved goodbye as they left and closed the door. She then sighed and sat on the couch.
"Ugh, I just want this cold to go away..." With a sigh, Kacey grabbed the tv remote and turned it on.
As she went through the channels, she heard a loud knock on the door.
"Huh? Who could that be?" Kacey wondered.
She rose slowly and made her way to the door. When she opened it, Roy was on the other side.
"Roy! What are you doing here?" Kacey asked.
As his cheeks slightly turned pink, Roy replied, "Jasmine told me that you were sick, so I, uh, wanted to check on ya."
"Oh, I'm sorry, Roy. I meant to tell you, but I was too exhausted and I fell asleep." Kacey sighed. "I'm even still in my pajamas."
Kacey stepped aside to let Roy in the house. He looked around the living room. "Your brother and those plumbers aren't here?"
"No. They're visiting the Beanbean Kingdom today. They actually just left a few minutes ago." Kacey said.
"Ah ok. I'm surprised I didn't run into them." Roy chuckled. "Your brother would've been pissed!"
After giggling, Kacey started coughing. Roy looked at his girlfriend, noticing that her long black hair was messy. He also saw that her skin was pasty and her eyes were puffy and watery. Roy walked closer to her and put his hand on her forehead.
"Woah! You're feeling really warm, Kace. Ya probably need to lie down." He said.
"Oh, I guess you're right." Kacey replied.
Kacey gasped softly and blushed as Roy carried her in his arms.
"Roy?! What are you doing?" She asked.
"Don't worry, babe. I'm gonna take care of ya." Roy smirked as he shut the front door.
Kacey replied, "That's very sweet, Roy. But I don't wanna get you sick too."
"Heh. I won't get sick. Now, let's go." Roy turned off the tv and took Kacey upstairs to her room.
Once they were in her room, Roy gently lied Kacey down in her bed and pulled her pink blanket over her body. He looked at her and asked, "Are you hungry?"
"Not really." Kacey replied. Then, her stomach growled, making her blush and Roy chuckle. Kacey laughed and said, "Ok, I guess I am."
"Alright. I'll make ya something." Roy said. He turned around and walked out of the room.
Roy made his way downstairs and went to the kitchen. He stood in place, not knowing what to do.
"Crap. I should've asked her what she wanted."
He opened the refrigerator and looked inside. He saw milk, eggs, water, and other types of food and drinks. He growled and shut the refrigerator. He turned his head to the counter and saw a box filled with tea bags. He smiled and walked over to the box.
"Yeah! She needs something warm!" Roy opened the cabinet above his head and found a teacup.
He grabbed the cup and sat it down on the counter. Before he made the tea, he started looking through more cabinets. Eventually, he found one filled with different canned foods.
"C'mon, there's gotta be... yeah!" Roy pulled out a can of chicken noodle soup.
After a few minutes, Roy finished making the soup and hot tea. He took both upstairs and went back to Kacey's room, where he found her staring at the ceiling. Kacey sat up when she saw Roy return. He sat the cup on the dresser and handed Kacey the bowl.
"Thanks." Kacey smiled and began to eat the soup.
"I would've made the soup and tea from scratch, but I ain't really good at cooking and stuff like that." Roy said.
Kacey smiled again. "It's ok. The soup is good." Kacey picked up the tea and took a sip. "So is the tea!"
"You should try my mom's tea. It's really good." Roy smiled at her.
"I'd love to! My mom's tea was really good too." Kacey replied.
"Oh really?" Roy asked.
Kacey nodded. "Yeah! Her cooking was delicious too. She actually taught me how to cook when I was younger."
"I bet her food was great, since yours is tasty. Especially your steak." Roy smirked.
Kacey reddened. "Oh, it was."
Soon Kacey finished her soup and drank the rest of her tea. Roy took the bowl and cup back to the kitchen and washed them, along with the few dishes that were already in the sink. While he was busy, Kacey lied back down and blushed again.
"Roy's such a sweet boyfriend! He didn't have to take care of me." She thought to herself. "I told the others that he can be a kind and caring guy!"
Roy stayed with Kacey and looked after her for a few more hours. When he gave her medicine, Kacey made a disgusted face as she drank it, which made Roy laugh. When she ran out of tissues, he went to a store in Toad Town to buy her two more boxes (a few Toads were afraid of him, making him roll his eyes). Right now, Kacey was resting in her bed and Roy sat in a chair next to her as the two watched a tv show. As the show went on, they heard the front door opening and a familiar voice.
"Kacey! We're back!" Mario yelled.
Kacey looked at Roy, frowning. "Oh. I guess you better head back to the castle."
"Yeah. I'll call ya later to check on you again." Roy replied.
Kacey gave Roy a kiss on the cheek and said goodbye. Roy walked down the stairs and the three guys gasped when they saw him.
"What are you doing here?!" Kayden wondered.
"Leaving. See ya." Roy smirked and walked out of the front door.
Kayden bolted upstairs, the Bros. following behind him.
"Kacey! What was Roy doing in here with you!?" Kayden exclaimed.
"Kayden! He was taking care of me!" Kacey replied. She then began to cough and groaned. "Ugh. I'm too tired to argue with you. I'm just gonna take a nap..."
Kacey sighed and closed her eyes.
Kacey was feeling a lot better a week later. Finally her cold was gone and she could hang out with her friends and boyfriend! Today, she was heading to Bowser's Castle to hang out with Roy and his siblings. As she left the Mushroom Kingdom, she took out her phone and called Roy. A few minutes later, he finally picked up.
"Hi Roy! Thanks again for taking care of me last week!" Kacey said.
"Heh. No problem." Roy replied.
Kacey then said, "The next time you're sick, I'll take care of you."
"Well... I guess that's now." replied Roy.
"Huh?" asked Kacey, a confused expression on her face.
Roy coughed and said, "I got your cold..."
Kacey gasped. "Oh no! You poor thing! Don't worry, sweetie! I'll be there soon!"
After that, Kacey and Roy hung up. Kacey then ran through each world, trying to get to the Koopa Kingdom as fast as possible.
I hope this was slightly better than the first version! This took a few hours cuz I had to help my mom with some things, but I'm glad I got to finish this! I'm also thinking about rewriting the story about Lemmy that I wrote for Koopa Week last year too. But I might save that for this year's Koopa Week. I hope you all have a great day!
